HISTORY

Kymdan mattresses were created and have existed for 72 years.

Transcending space and time not only are Kymdan products renowned and popular in the domestic market thanks to their safety and outstanding quality, but the Kymdan brand is also registered for protection in 103 countries and territories and currently available in many places of the world.

The development and success of the Kymdan mattress are a result of the efforts in researching and the use of science and technology, as well as the hard work and perseverance from three generations of the Kymdan family.

Meaning of the Kymdan brand: KỸ nghệ (Vietnamese for Industry) Mousse (foam) ĐA Ngành (Vietnamese for multidisciplinary)

Stage 1 (1954 – 1975: Founding and Development)

Kymdan was founded in 1954 beginning with the first-ever Kymdan mattress produced on the 19^th  March 1954, produced by Mr. Nguyen Van Dan (born in 1926 in Go Cong Dong District, Tien Giang Province, Vietnam). The Kymdan brand was very familiar with Southern Vietnamese consumers before 1975.

After 1975, Mr. Nguyen Van Dan settled in the French Republic.

Stage 2:  The stage of applying new Science and Technology advances to production.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dan’s son, Engineer Nguyen Huu Tri, had decided to remain in Vietnam due to his passion for research on rubber technology.

After 1975, despite the halt in production of Kymdan mattresses, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tri continued to invest in his research on natural latex and published his book “Science and Technology of Natural Latex”. His book is a piece of scientific work that has been a valuable source of knowledge for generations of future researchers specializing in polymerization.

In 1989, with the commence of new changes in the Vietnamese economy, Mr. Tri decided to manufacture natural latex foam mattresses again. During this period, he invested in establishing Kymdan Laboratory equipped with the most advanced equipment and machinery in the world that specialised in the research of natural latex. This laboratory was established with the aim to strengthen scientific research and apply scientific technology in manufacturing. Hence, a series of manufacturing techniques, modern technological processes have been applied that brought forth a new generation of Kymdan natural latex foam mattresses. Mr. Tri’s pioneering contributions during this period reinvented Kymdan as a mattress brand with unique and outstanding quality.

After restarting manufacturing, Mr. Tri decided to register the brand Kymdan for trademark protection under Vietnamese law.

Stage 3: International Integration

From the 01^st January 2009, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tri passed the position of General Director to his son, Mr. Nguyen Tri Tan, and the management of the Company into the capable hands of his son and a new generation of young leaders. 

By early May 2017, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tri officially handed over the business to his son, Mr Nguyen Tri Tan as Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of the Company.  Mr. Nguyen Huu Tri himself retired.

During this period, besides continuing to promote and increase the application of the newest in scientific and technological advances to production, Mr. Tan has pushed to make Kymdan products – with their organic origins, outstanding quality, and safe to use - accessible to markets in developed countries around the world.

Today, the Kymdan brand has been registered for trademark protection in 103 countries and territories.
